i am always conflicted about my hair, but i have finally decided what i want to do with it. i think :)

So, I would like to grow it long... extentions are possible in the near future, and get bangs like this again (: i think that this would be nice, and a little bit of a change. and i want to get light pink and blue streaks that just fade out, like i had before aswell (:

go to that link to see what pic i am referring to. my internet is too slow to post it atm. today is a stay in bed kinda day. yes, all day. it is now 4:38 pm, and the only time i have been out of bed was to wash my hair. it needed to be done. blake lively is my fave. jeannie gave me this mag for christmas. since thursday i have had a sleepover every night. it has worn me out! thurs night i went to megs with the arts gang. firday i had holly over, saturday rachel and stephanie came over. and sunday night jeannie and carmen came over. i love living downtown again. it warms my heart and soul, being in the heart of the city, surrounded by friends, fashion, and shopping. the cutest little restaurants are down here. which reminds me!! i need to go buy some bubble tea... there is a bubble tea place reaaaal close to my house. mm, now i am getting hungry. i would have to get dressed tho... but it may be worth it. monday i went shopping with my sister marla and rachel down to urban outfitters and indigo. i bought a book at indigo, but nothing was too striking that was affordable at urbo. i think i should go get something to eat now?

A visit to an old friend named Carmen

About five days ago I went to my friend Carmen's house. Her friends April and Emmalys were also there (they are friends of mine too). Carmen and April went to school with me from grade one until five. We have recently connected through mutual friends, and I am so joyful to have them back in my life. While at her house we all played a game of angel cards. They are pretty much like taro cards in that fortune telling way, although there are no bad cards in the deck. Only brilliant and positive ones. After we drank hot apple cider that Carmen's mother made, while playing a game of True Colours. We then moved over to the couch and curled up in blankets and painted our nails while watching Moulin Rouge.  The next day Emmalys went out to an appointment and April went to lunch with her boyfriend. This left Carmen and I in utter bore, but we got around it as I introduced Carmen to the world of dailyboothing. Below are our pictures from our day together, clearing showing how bored we were...  

Here we were pretending that we were naked by wiggling the staps of our shirts out of sight.

Here, I almost died because I was so bored, but then an idea sparked in my mind! Lets take pictures with sugar all over our lips! Haha. What a brilliant idea that was. I pretty much just look like i have utterly chapped lips.

All glam-ed up and ready to shoot our last minute music video with an hour left until my dad would come to retrieve me! We used the song "Bitch" by the Plasicines. .. I hope I spelt that right. And below is a picture from earlier in the morning when we made pancakes. yum!

GG Style- Serenas dress in "Rufus Getting Married"

This dress was amazing, but there was a god awful slit on the left side of the dress in the photo. But the wind in covering it here. Anyway, it was terrible !! It completly ruined the dress, BUT atleast you cant see it here!: ) i love the textures and colour palette of this dress. Beautiful!
I am thinking about attempting to make something inspired by this..

Haha! Blake Lively (Serena of Gossip Girl) seem to have an all too similar blazer! I just got this one, vintage, as is hers, at a thrift shop at my school! for free! Its a really cool thing my school does. Anyway, now I realize that its really similar to the one that Serena wore on the first episode of Season 3 ! <3 So.. who wore it better, folks !?

Party In The Bra?

I must admit that I am really digging this song, and the video is pretty good. accept for the fact that mileys bra was totally showing the entire video! it was really .. bad. she is sixteen. i am actually two weeks older than her or something, and i would not do this at this age! and where was her dad.. in the corner cheering her on like always? how can he really agree to that!?

on another note, i was able to finally watch gossip girl and the vampire diaries! it comes on friday nights back to back on much music! so my problem is solved:)

The Ultimate Dilemma

So, right now I am at my Dad's house.. and he just has plain old cable tv. This is an issue because every Monday night I watch Gossip Girl, Wednesday is The Beautiful Life, and Thursday, the most important of all, The Vampire Diaries. So the dilemma of the matter is that he does not have the CW channel. The channel of life!! So.. right about now i should be watching Gossip Girl, but rather I am here pouting. I do not know what I am going to do!! I will stop watching The Beautiful Life, if I must, but how in the heck will I find a way to watch Gossip Gilr!? I cant find season 3 anywhere online!! I have looked everywhere online and its so difficult to locate a site that will have the shows newest episodes. I did however find a site that had The Vampire Diaries.

TELL ME A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.

I am nineteen, awkward, and living life behind my camera. I aspire to be a fashion photographer one day and currently entering my second year at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I hope to make that dream a reality. I live in a small city called Lubbock. It's in Texas. (side note: I do not ride a horse to school)

WHAT DOES 'STYLE' MEAN TO YOU?

Style is all about expression. It's another form of art and I love that it can vary so much. It intrigues me how different changing little things about an outfit can change the mood or idea so much. It especially interests me in terms of photography. I love narrative style photography, and the extra element of fashion really allows you to create a wide array of characters.

HOW DID YOUR INTEREST IN PHOTOGRAPHY FIRST START ? OR WHY?

Photography was interesting to me growing up, but more so just the aspect of playing with cameras and not really being serious about settting up images. When I was 16 I started getting really into it and begging my friends to model for me. Luckily I got enough people to agree to pose for me that I got some experience. Then I started doing more self-portrait work as it's often easier to achieve the poses I want since I always know exactly what I have in mind.

WHERE DO YOU GAIN YOUR STYLE INSPIRATION?

Vintage photographs and clothing, Southwestern art and culture, fashion photography, Thrift stores, and the great people on lookbook. Thrifting really gives me the most ideas, though. I love walking into stores full of old things and trying to figure out how to make them work.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING IN YOUR CLOSET?

that's quite a hard thing to pick! the dress and boots in this look would probably win, t hough. http://lookbook.nu/look/184157-bat-your-lashes I mostly just love that the dress was mine when I was little and now it makes a cute short dress, and the boots were incredibly cheap at a thrift store. I don't think I'll ever find a pair I'm more fond of.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK? MAGAZINE?

I love the book "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close". I haven't gotten to finish it because everytime I start it up, I get super busy. My favorite magazine would have to be Nylon or any of the Vogues.

WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

drinking cup of tea after cup of tea after cup of tea.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY.

I would wake up at noon, go eat some delicious pizza at this pizzeria in my town, then head off to do some thrift store shopping. After finding baskets full of discount vintage wear, I would head home. I'd sort through the clothes and put some new outfits together. Then I'd eat with my mother one of the del icious vegetarian meals she makes. Once the sun starts setting and getting glowy and warm, I'd head to the park where I do most of my photographing and take some photographs with the new outfits. Then I'd make some Chai and head to the park where I would meet up with my friends to sit under the stars and talk for hours.(Fortunately, this is how I spent much of my summer vacation)

Taylor Momsen: Style Icon, Rock Star, & Actress!? This girl has got it all!

Taylor Momsen is out with her own band, The Pretty Reckless. Suprisingly, for most, it is not pop. But rock. And she sounds fantastic. This girl is also no 'Actress turned singer'. Nope, she has been singing since she was a wee little one, and now she finally has a record (to be released sometime this month) Take a listen to some of the song demos that have been released on the bands myspace page. You will be addicted after the first listen. This is one album i will be running out to grab this fall. Also, one of their songs does not look to be on their page, but you can find it on youtube. You gotta check this one out. Its called Blender, and its sooo good! Enjoy! :)
